At FLIT, we recommend the MABS budget capture tool which can be found at https://www.mabs.ie/en/money-tools/my-budget/

This tool asks you 11 pages of questions about each possible aspect of your income and outgoings, and really identifies your money flows in and out.  The tool is best run on a PC or laptop, as it will offer to save the results as a csv (spreadsheet) file export.

Once you have that file you can analyse it directly using ChatGPT or other AI tools.  Alternatively, at FLIT Financial LITeracy, we have developed a budgeting tool which allows you to take the process a step further by predicting your cashflow on a day-by-day basis.  You can specify when each payment or income is next due, and FLIT will mark this on your calendar.  

This allows you to see your upcoming cash flow and spot difficulties in time to plan for them.  No surprises!
