Why a focus on women?

In Ireland, women and men experience work, caring responsibilities, and financial outcomes differently — and these differences accumulate over time.

Research shows that:

• Women retire with significantly lower private pension savings.

• Women live longer, increasing the importance of long-term financial security.

Women’s lives often include multiple caring roles — for children, elderly parents, and others — alongside paid work. These realities can affect income, pension contributions, and access to information.

This programme is designed to reflect these lived experiences and to support women in making informed financial decisions at every life stage.
